Yeti Bait!

Hey guys! Long time no update! I apologize for the inconvenience and the delay, I've just been super busy lately!!! So this scene was quite fun to draw- the shadows on the wall from the blinds were a little tricky but over all I'm happy with how the effect came out. Tex is always a challenge to draw (I'm sure I've said this before) but I really started to get comfortable with him here. Anyways, hope y'all enjoy the page!

Never Take Us Alive!

I'm really enjoying drawing these little scenery panels lately. Especially ones with plants and buildings together. Something about it makes me happy. So yeah, Yeti brings home another girl- It seems like he gets all the ladies, no? I guess Chuck just can't keep up. Know what? I think it's the fur. Ladies dig the fur. Well, hope you guys enjoy this week's strip! See you next Friday.

Ka-Bad Ass!

I'm not going to lie, I think this is one of my favorite pages I've ever done. Doing the environments was a lot of fun, and the sound effect is... well, it is what it is. A Yeti riding a Vespa- Now there's something that you never think you're going to have to draw in your lifetime! Lemme tell you, it was a real challenge to get his big fuzzy butt to fit on the back of that little scooter, but I think it came out okay! Hope you enjoy this week's page, guys! See you next week!

Hold On, Fuzz Bucket!

Hey guys, here's this week's Yeti strip. It was a lot of fun drawing the vespa- never drawn one before, but my friend Morgan drives one and her along with a few of my SCAD friends like to hide vespas in their work. So it only seemed the logical choice to put one- in this case a 1964 Vespa Allstate- in Yeti. Hope you guys enjoy. See you next week.

You're a Yeti!

And the plot thickens!!! So I've had a few people scoff at the idea that nobody can realize that Yeti is indeed a yeti so long as he's wearing a mustache or a tie, but I've always found the idea to be hilarious. It's that whole Fairly Oddparents "everyone is dumb except the main character" kind of philosophy that gives the world a kind of wacky disposition- but hey, maybe Nora is smarter than she seems! And hey- she IS the first person to figure it out, so you gotta give her that! See you next week, guys!!!

Don't Leave Me Yeti!

Whoa Yeti! Don't bail just yet! On second thought, he probably has the right idea. So yeah, Tex is really difficult to draw, not necessarily because of his body shape, but because it's hard to fit him in such small spaces. I had to keep trying new poses, but I knew I wanted him loading his gun. Subsequent note- creepy scooby-doo evil eyes coming out of the forest always make a scene better. Always. Hope you enjoy the comic!

Welcome to Texas!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the absence last week- I had to take some time off to go out of town for a little bit, but never fear- Yeti is still in production!!! Here's this week's strip- and look! Plot development! I'm pretty sure Texas Ulysses Slaughterhouse the III is about the manliest name I could come up with. That being said, Tex is a chore and a half to draw. Enjoy the strip!

Here Comes the Boom!

Nice! Yeti's job is off to a good start! This part of the story (at least the details) were all inspired by my girlfriend Dawn who is an awesome Sound Design major at SCAD. Last quarter I'd spent a large amount of time with her at the checkout area renting sound equipment and found it all to be fascinating. There's just so much stuff! Anyways, hope you enjoyed the strip! See you next week!

Pancake Time!

Whew! About time for a celebration! The past few strips had been lacking in pancakes, so you know it's about time we had some more. I think the last panel in this page has to be one of my favorites I've drawn so far. It's pretty much the epitome of this series, and I think the characters came out looking pretty hilarious. That being said, drawing a syrup bottle proved to be more of a challenge than I thought it would be! Hope you all enjoy the strip, and have a great weekend!

The Deets!

What a turn of events! See, the lesson here is that when you stop trying so hard, things usually work out, at least in my experience. That isn't to say that hard work and dedication don't pay off, though. Okay, so I'm bad at writing "morals." Wanna fight about it? Oh well. Good goin' Yeti!

HEY!: Side note- good luck to all of my SEQA friends at Hero's Con this weekend!!! Wish I could be there with you all!

A New Challenger Approaches: Nora!

Hey everyone! Sorry for a little bit of a late update! I have been in New York meeting with some editors on a pretty awesome class trip. Needless to say my tiny laptop just doesn't have the computing power to upload much of anything. So here's the newest strip for you guys! Who is this crazy new girl?! And is that Officer Dangle?

The Amazing Yetini!

BAY-SPLOSION! So yeah, Yeti isn't so great with magic tricks. This isn't really even magic, honestly, it's just juggling, but hey, gotta know what you're good at. However, I would say that Yeti would make an awesome pyrotechnic engineer. Look at that explosion! Magnificent work, Yeti.

Cat-tastrophe!

The Sanakas are back! Looks like a pesky cat is itching to ruin Yeti's new job! Sounds like a friend of mine- Thomas- his family just decided to get a new cat even though he's allergic to them. Guess where the cat wants to hang out? In his room of course. Sorry for a little bit of a "late-night" update; Dawn and I spent all day moving out of our dorms and driving to Charleston. Time for a little bit of R&R! Thanks for reading guys!

Sanaka's!

Guess who forgot it was Friday?! Sorry about that guys! Finals week makes things a little bit crazy. I'm finishing up my book for concept class AND my good friend Ian Jay is in town! Check out his work HERE! So this week's comic is special since it features some of my friend Madeline Rupert's amazing characters from her web comic SAKANA! To read it check out THIS LINK! Mad and Ian are both amazing artists so go look at their stuff! And tune in next week to see what crazy antics await Yeti at Sanaka's Fish Market!

Flipping Out!

Watch out! Yeti doesn't want a job. And who would blame him? He's far too awesome for any 'ol 9 to 5. Bag boy? No. Retail? Not! So what WILL Yeti do? Guess you'll have to find out! This page was especially fun to draw for some reason. Any time I can incorporate some kind of external humor (table flipping) I always get a laugh out of it. Thanks for reading guys, enjoy!

Ba-Fired!

Hey everybody! Welcome to the second half of chapter one!! Thanks for stickin' with me thus far! Looks like Yeti's escapade caused a little more trouble than Chuck could've imagined! Poor guy, never gets a break, huh? Well, maybe our duo's luck is about to turn around!

That Awkward Moment

Hey everybody! So, big news. Pancakes for Yeti officially updates every FRIDAY now. What better way to end your week than with some Yeti? Right? So here's this week's strip! Looks like Chuck's life just couldn't get any weirder. In case you couldn't tell, the last panel is drawn heavily from Savannah Georgia. It's a pretty cool place and, aside from being where I currently live, has a lot of character to it. Anyways, enjoy the comic!

All the Right Moves (In All the Right Places)

Man, for a 600 pound man-beast that never talks, Yeti sure does have all the right moves! One of my friends pointed out that this particular strip could be taken as some kind of weird sociopolitical statement about the nature of women and culture, etc.. but that simply isn't the case. Rachel as we see her here is what we lovingly refer to as "plotline fodder." So pardon my mis-representation of women here, folks. Rest assured, if I ever cross the line my girlfriend will smack me over the head a few times just for you. Enjoy the comic!

-Phil (Shoes)

*EDIT*  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of the new background! I'm still rather on the fence about it but I couldn't take "Stock Photo in Seattle" anymore.

Le Fancy

Oh Yeti, you crazy fool! You cannot love a human! So here's page 6 in all of its awkwardness. I enjoyed inking this page if for no other reason than that the waiter looks like Alfred from Batman. I can somehow see him showing up as a waiter on the weekends. Subsequent note- "le fancy" is the best SFX of all time. I'm not sure what it would sound like in real life, though. Enjoy, guys!

The Italiano

What's this?! Looks like Yeti's date is off to a potentially good start! It was interesting to draw this page, because I really had no design in mind for what the Italiano should've looked like. If I could go back, I'd probably reference a really specific restaurant and this would've looked a lot better. But, hindsight is 20/20, and hey, I think the pages turned out alright!

Master of Disguise

Looks like Yeti is up to something! I'd like to imagine that somewhere walking around in plain sight are yetis cleverly (or un-cleverly) disguised as humans, eating our food, shopping at our stores, listening to Nickelback. Okay, not that last one. So what'll happen next?! Who knows! Well, besides me. Since I wrote this. Enjoy!!

Down With the Sickness

Page three! What a twist! Hope you're all enjoying the comic so far! I think I re-drew the milk carton in panel 4 about 20 times. It's amazing how such a simple thing can be such a burden. I also never knew there were so many different kinds of milk containers. Seriously, look it up. I'm not crazy.

Chuck's Date

What's this? An early update? Only in the sense that it's 2:00 A.M. Here's page two, since this page feels a little bare! Oh, Chuck. What have you gotten yourself into?

Pancakes for Yeti: The First Pancake

Hey everybody! Welcome to Pancakes for Yeti, the hippest new web comic to involve both Yetis and breakfast goods! If you're reading this right now, it means you probably followed my link from facebook and, as such, are my friend. This also probably means you've read this already, but after page 8 (the end of chapter 1) you'll get to view all new content! So here's page 1 in all its pancake-y goodness. Stay tuned for more crazy yeti adventures!
